Fear Not

Psalm 27:1

1 The LORD is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?

Psalm 23:1-6

1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. 3 He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name's sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the LORD Forever.

The world gives many reasons to fear on a daily basis. Watching the news and listening to friends and neighbors could lead to feelings of dread and hopelessness. People getting sick, people losing their jobs and businesses, riots and looting in the streets. It can all be overwhelming.

Don't lose hope, though. The Lord has your back. Just put your faith and trust in him and he will take care of you. With Him, there is no reason to fear. He'll provide for your needs. He'll put you in a place that you can be refreshed and nourished. He'll help you to stay on the right path. He does these things because you represent Him. Through you, He'll show the world that there is hope in Him.

With your faith placed firmly in Him, no evil can touch you. Even when you are surrounded by your enemies, he will protect and nourish you. His blessings will be more than you can contain. His blessings and provision will overtake you. In His presence will be the only place you want to be.

Give God a chance. Let Him prove to you that His promises are true. Let Him be that place of refuge for you. He loves you.

Don't be afraid.
