SINGING, TALKING, AND TEACHING ABOUT THE KINGDOM OF GOD
Matthew 28:19-29 "Go ye therefore and teaching all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost; teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you, even unto the end of the world."
Giftings abound in this talented woman Joyce Isaacs, a woman who brings life and joy wherever she ministers.
Rev. Isaacs is conducting a monthly chapel service at the Sumter Christian School. Also, she is looking forward to upcoming street ministries in Sumter and Lake Counties.
In December of 1995, a vision was birthed in Joyce's heart to start an entertaining but meaningful, children's puppet ministry. holding the words of Mark 10:27 close to her heart "With God all things are possible" she stepped out in faith sharing her talent in children's church. It wasn't long before her enthusiasm and puppets spread to include Wednesday night church training sessions.
In 1997 Joyce and company became a fixture at the Lighthouse Academy, bringing children into a closer relationship with Jesus. After 7 years at the Academy, Joyce, now a full-fledged puppeter, felt a call to reach even deeper into her community spreading the light, love and hope of the Gospel through her growing musical menagerie of puppets.
In 2004, "Born in a Barn Mobile Street Ministry" was born and life kept Joyce running to keep up with her crew. As word of Joyce and her fuzzy friends spread, so did the ministry. Together they enjoyed taking the "Word" to festivals, church events, nursing homes, county fairs, jails, Christian schools, various church groups and outreaches.
Joyce does not restrict her puppets to just the hymnal. This animated, colorful crew gets it's material from a wide musical menu that includes Southern Gospel, traditional, scriptural, 60's, 70's, and 80's fare. The teaching sessions also include lively skits and felt art. To the delight of the children, Rev. Isaacs often invites them to participate in the performance of the puppets. She provides training for anyone that is interested in helping
This dynamic and generous woman steadfastly refuses to charge a fee for her calling, choosing instead to rely strictly on donations, yet another sign of her deep faith in our Lord.
